Series 656

The 656 Series combines an attractive finish appearance with the convenience of a factory-assembled unit. These non-rated doors feature a high-quality16-gauge steel frame, hood and fascia complemented by a 14-gauge sill. Available to fit openings up to 12'4" wide and 6' high (3759 mm and 1829 mm), these rolling counter doors have a variety of applications, including food service areas.

Part 1 General

1.01 Work Included
The rolling counter doors shall be Series 656 as manufactured by Overhead Door Corporation.

1.02 Quality Assurance
In accordance with accepted quality assurance guidelines for motor-operated doors, both the rolling counter door and electric operator (optional) shall be furnished by a single-source producer of door systems; as by Overhead Door Corporation.

Part 2 Product

2.01 Curtain
Interlocking flat profile slats with endlocks attached to alternate slats to maintain curtain alignment and prevent lateral slat movement. Clear anodized aluminum slats, .051" (1 mm) thick, and extruded aluminum bottom bar with lift handled, slide bolts and vinyl astragal.

2.02 Integral Frame and Sill
Integral frame consists of 16-gauge frame, hood and fascia, with 14-gauge sill. The 656 Series shall have primed steel frame, hood, fascia and stainless steel sill.

2.03 Counterbalance
Counterbalance shall be helical torsion springs housed in a steel pipe barrel, supporting the curtain with deflection limited to .03" per foot (2.5 mm per m) of span. Counterbalance shall be adjustable by means of an adjusting tension wheel.

2.04 Hood
The 656 Series shall have a primed galvanized hood.

2.05 Finish
Aluminum material shall be clear anodized. Galvanized steel material shall be primed. Stainless steel material shall be No. 4 finish.

2.06 Operation
Doors shall be manual push-up (optional crank or motor operation.)

2.07 Locks
Locking shall be slide-bolt (cylinder lock).

Part 3 Execution

3.01 Execution
Install the rolling counter doors in accordance with Overhead Door Corporation instructions and standards. Installation shall be by an authorized Overhead Door Corporation representative.
